The Path of Ambition and the Path of Purpose

We have been raised within a society that supports the busyness of the mind. The busier the mind the better. This mindset and culture is one of never ending doing doing doing rather than being. This mindset promotes material achievement, accolades, titles and awards.

We have been told that success is what we can show others, ‘look at what I have done’ and ‘look at what I have’. This ‘success’ must be seen to validate the self. This is the path of ambition; it drives the many to push and conquer and to be better than others.

Let’s consider another path. This other path does not scream or shout for attention. It does not demand that you ‘Look at Me’. This path is the path of the masters who walked upon this Earth. Gautama Buddha, Master Jesus and many others who walked the path of purpose. They moved inward to discover the treasures within rather than accumulate outside of themselves. This richness was cultivated from within through awakening the heart to deeper truths and capabilities. This created deep and permanent changes that we still talk about and admire to this day yet may believe that this is not possible for us.

These masters displayed excellence, excellence in their devotion and dedication to the expansion of their hearts. They excelled in Love, in Compassion and attained mastery.

What if excellence is a choice? What if we could choose to become excellent and begin a deeper journey to discover all that the heart has to offer. What if we are masters in the making?

There are two paths in this life experience. One is the path of ambition, and the other is the path of purpose. Which one calls you?

Do you want to experience a more purpose driven life, a life that cultivates greater fulfillment and inner joy?
